Service Animal and Pet Policy
10 XP1.Policy Guidelines
✅ Our company welcomes service animals and other pets on the premises to create a friendly environment for our customers.
✅ However, it is important to note that the pet owner assumes full responsibility for any damages caused by their pets.
✅ In the event of damage, the pet owner will be liable for the full retail price of the item.
✅ There are no exceptions to this rule; all damage must be resolved with either Westside Market or the member if the damage is to their product.
2.Circumstances and Rules
✅ Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), are allowed on the premises to assist individuals with disabilities.
✅ Service animals must be properly trained and under the control of the owner at all times.
✅ They should be leashed or harnessed, unless such restraints interfere with their work or the individual's disability prevents their use.
✅ Customers may bring other pets onto the premises as long as they are well-behaved, properly controlled with a short leash or in a cart, and pose no threat or disturbance to other customers, employees, or the environment.
✅ Examples of other pets include dogs, cats, small mammals, and birds.
❌ Reptiles, amphibians, and exotic pets are not allowed.
✅ Employees are not allowed to bring their pets to work while on the clock. If visiting the store, they must follow the customer pet policy.
3.Liability and Damages
✅ The pet owner assumes full responsibility for any damages caused by their pets while on our premises.
✅ This includes, but is not limited to, damages to:
- Merchandise
- Fixtures
- Furniture
- Any other property
✅ In the event of damage, the pet owner will be held liable for the full retail price of the item(s) damaged or the cost of repairs, whichever is higher.
✅ Any damages caused by a pet must be reported immediately to a designated company representative or employee.
✅ The pet owner will be required to provide their contact information and a description of the incident.
✅ Prompt reporting ensures a timely resolution and facilitates the appropriate assessment of damages.
4.Enforcement and Removal
✅ Failure to comply with this policy may result in the pet owner being asked to remove their pet from the premises.
✅ Additionally, repeated violations may result in the pet owner being prohibited from bringing their pet onto the premises in the future.
✅ Employees are not allowed to bring their pets to work while on the clock. If visiting the store, they must follow the customer pet policy.
We appreciate the cooperation of all customers in adhering to this pet policy. It is our goal to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
