Westside Market values the dedication of its full-time employees and recognizes the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

This policy outlines holiday pay eligibility and scheduled time off when the business is closed for recognized holidays.
2. Holiday Pay
π Eligibility & Payment
β
Full-time employees are entitled to holiday pay for recognized holidays when the business is closed.
β
A recognized holiday refers to an officially observed public holiday or a designated company holiday.
β
Hourly employees must be on the regular payroll and classified as full-time to receive holiday pay.
π Limitations
β Holiday pay cannot be counted as overtime.
β Employees who have already worked 40 hours in the same week are not eligible for additional holiday pay.
β
Eligible hourly employees will receive their regular rate of pay for the hours they would have worked on the designated holiday, based on their normal schedule.
π Recognized Holidays
β
The following holidays are officially observed, and the store will be closed:
- Easter Sunday
- Independence Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- New Yearβs Day
π¨ Employees scheduled to work on a recognized holiday will receive their designated holiday pay but will not work that day.
3. Scheduled Time Off
β
Full-time employees will work four (4) days in the holiday week and receive pay for five (5) days while maintaining their two regular days off.
β
This ensures employees receive additional time off to support work-life balance.
π Usage Restrictions
β These additional days off cannot be carried over to another week.
β Unused time off does not accumulate for future use and will be forfeited if not used within the same workweek.
4. Notification & Communication
β
Westside Market will provide employees with advance notice of recognized holidays, holiday pay, and scheduled time off entitlements.
β
Employees will be informed of the process and timeline for requesting additional time off, along with any exceptions or limitations.
5. Compliance & Enforcement
β
Managers are responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy and addressing any employee questions or concerns.
π¨ Failure to adhere to this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination, as per company procedures and employment laws.
